Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam
As graduation project we got an assignment to design a stand in whatever style you'd like, as long as it had something to do with you or your lifestyle. Because of this everyone had to choose an object which would say a lot about the person. I chose a spraycan, because I'm really into street-art and always busy with drawing or painting.
When I started designing the stand I didn't know that I would be 1 of the very few who were chosen to present their work in a store in Rotterdam. So after I heard I had been chosen I had to flip my entire project in an other composition, because of the smaller space in the store.Eventually my work was showed in the store Urban Unit for over 3 weeks.

Tire Chair
Internship Refunc
Refunc was already busy creating chairs made out of old car-tires, but they only had 2 designs so far. So I proposed to let me come up with an new design which turned out to be this one.
It didn't became stock for retail, but it sure was a whole lot of fun making it!
Now it sits peacefully at the Refunc homebase in Scheveningen.
Chair
Inspired by Rietveld
For Refunc I had to give a chair making workshop. The only materials to be used were pieces of IBC-tanks. As preparation I decided to come up with 1 design to show how the materials could be used.
During the workshop I made this chair to show the participants some techniques they could use and let them improvise, while I assisted.
For a musiclabel-party
This was my first big assignment during my internship, that I was totally responsible for. Refunc is well-known for their mobile architecture, so I wanted to stay as close to that as possible.
The concept behind the design was that the music being played had to be caged, because of it's unusual and raw use of sounds. But the tunes were just so awesome that it instantly broke out of it's cage. This was being represented by lights and stroboscopes behind the white panels.
Milgro Gardenhouse
For Milgro, a waste treatment company
We did this assignment with the whole team from the company (which was a total 5 people back then), because it had a lot of preperation to it and it was just really fun to work with al of us together for once.
The baskets we made were a combination of IBC-tanks and old fire extinguishers with holes cut out. It turned out the shed also had some gutters on it's sides. On the spot we thought of a way to gather rainwater, that could be used for giving the herbs and plants some water in the future.
